Within our school, Years 3 to 6 pupils have the opportunity to apply to be a Digital Leader for the school. Pupils apply for the role, which are reviewed by digital team. Successful candidates meet weekly with Mrs. Jones our Digital Lead teacher.
Role Statement
Digital Leaders are pupils who are interested and enthusiastic about all aspects of digital learning. Digital Leaders meet with the digital Lead teacher once a week. Pupils who are in Year 3 to 6, with a true passion for digital learning are eligible for the role of Digital Leader.
Responsibilities
As a Digital Leader responsibilities include:
Helping staff get computing equipment ready and organised (charging laptops and iPads)
Trying out and reviewing new apps, websites and programs which could be used in lessons
Demonstrating how to use technology in the classroom
Demonstrating how to use everyday programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint) and easy-to-use website to other students and staff
Demonstrating how to use apps and websites to enhance teaching and learning (Google Classroom, O365, Seesaw, Adobe Creative Cloud Express, Coding, Minecraft)
Helping to run digital clubs for other learners (Minecraft, Lego Wedo, Adobe)
Organise and judge IT related competitions
Lead the Pupil Voice Assembly each half term
Collaborate with other schools and their Digital Teams
Helping to organise Safer Internet Day
Any other duties as requested by the Digital Lead Teacher
